Carla's Cannes Mastery Program was truly masterful! If it wasn't for Carla's coaching, I would not have gone to Cannes this year! Not only was I overwhelmed by all the information about the festival, but I also didn't really see a point in going. My name is Kseniia Kosarieva and I am at the beginning of my acting career in Europe. Now I am trying to get as much new information as possible. When I read the Instagram post about The Berlinale Bootcamp, I was interested as it promised that the participants will get a huge amount of new information about festivals: Berlinale and Festival de Cannes. I was totally intrigued and the journey began.

After attending The Bootcamp some ideas became clearer to me. In the beginning I didn't pay much attention on film festivals as I thought that only 'celebrities' or 'superstars can attend them, so I would never have a chance. However, Carla explained and proved that every person from the film industry can be accepted to the festival! But there should be an algorithm and knowledge on how to do it. You should prepare thoroughly and believe in yourself.

Moreover, I got a lot of useful information how to build up my CV to meet the standards and be accredited for the festivals. Another thing which I realized that directors and producers try to achieve their goals on such festivals too. For instance, not only the actors are looking for casting directors, but at the same time casting directors are doing the same. So, from all sides it is a cooperation & communication with a lot of people is a must.

We discussed our CVs and what they should look like. So now I can proudly show it to the casting directors. I created an IMDb actor profile which really helps me to feel confident & move up to the professional level. Carla's training consists not only of steps to be accepted to these film festivals, but also practical advice which I can use regardless of festivals. For instance, I have learned the structure and the content of a letter to the casting director or agent. And most importantly: how to present myself and my strengths shortly and clearly so that casting directors & directors would like to work with me. I am sure that I would attend The Bootcamp next year to set the new goals, to work on my CV and headshots and to be coached about making a strategy to reach my goals on Berlinale and Festival de Cannes!

I recently took part in Carla’s new five hour private coaching! First of all, this is five (!) hours of coaching and looking at the price tag it might seem like a lot of money and that’s scary… but let me tell you: you get so much more than those five hours. Sure, you’ll pay for five sessions but what you don’t have to pay for is the additional hours that Carla dedicates to you, your brand and your material. In my case, I know she spent several hours leading up to our sessions reviewing my stuff and figuring out the best path and individual strategy for me. And you really can’t put a price on that, it’s invaluable! 

As for the coaching, I’ve now completed four out of five sessions. Because I was short on time and wanted to do it sooner rather than later she agreed to do it over zoom and it worked out perfectly. I’ve been in this industry for most of my adult life and Carla offered me a new fresh perspective on my own craft and the industry as a whole. She has decades of experience and it definitely shows! To concretize my goals and dreams to make them a reality.
